Of all the landmarks in Seattle, the Seattle Underground City may be the most curious. After a fire destroyed over 30 blocks in the late 1800s, the leaders decided to build the new city on top of the old. As a result, visitors today can see a city frozen in time, where old structures and 19th century way of life is preserved for generations to come.
