A designer and inventor known for his geodesic domes, Buckminster Fuller had the distinction of being the namesake for an entire set of carbon molecules. Created from fiberglass, the Monohex dome features bulbous windows resembling the lenses of a fly's eye. The 24-foot structure was built between 1977 and 1983, but was acquired and installed by collector Craig Robins in 2011. (Submitted by Pam Moran)
