Coconut Island

Park your car and walk the slim footbridge to the small island park with its serene swimming holes. Officially known as Moku Ola, the shallow pools are great for kids, and you can try jumping off the remnants of an old tower on the east side of the island. It is a sacred place for native Hawaiians who in the past would bury their newborns' umbilical cords under the rocks. Legend has it that swimming around Moku Ola three times will heal any ailments you might have. (Submitted by Kristina Becvar)
