Kekaha Kai State Park is the perfect spot for nature lovers as it encompasses a variety of terrain and habitats—white sand beaches (including Mahaiʻula Beach and Makalawena Beach), tranquil bays (Kua Bay and Pu’u Ali’I Bay), and an expansive wetland reserve known as Ōpaeʻula Pond which harbors several endangered species of birds like the Hawaiian Stilt and the Black-crowned Night Heron. It’s also a terrific place for swimming, snorkeling or simply kicking back and enjoying the view.
