This visitor center and museum is an entire history lesson on the Lewis and Clark Expedition. The center focuses on the time the explorers spend at Fort Mandan and the relationships they forged with the native people. On display are Native American artifacts including reproductions of the tools and items that Lewis, Clark, and Sacajawea would have used. In front of the center are three steel statues depicting Lewis and Clark in deep discussion with Mandan Chief Sheheke.
