Jack Lord Bust

In the Macy’s parking lot of the Kahala mall is a bronze bust celebrating the life and career of stage and screen actor Jack Lord, best known for playing Detective Steve McGarrett in Hawaii Five-0. But why, of all places, is this tribute located at the Kahana mall? It’s because Lord and his wife lived nearby, and the mall was one of their occasional shopping stops. The bust, unveiled in 2004, was created by sculptor Lynn Weller Liverton. As is the custom with all commemorative statues in Hawaii, the bust regularly dons a few fresh flower leis dropped off by fans paying their respects to the late actor.
