Description:

Leonard's Bakery was once a local secret spot on Oahu, but that's no longer the case! The bakery sits midway up Kapahulu Avenue and is bustling with business. The bakery has been featured in many tourist guide books, boosting its popularity, but why? The attention grabbers at this bakery are their little special Portuguese-style fried to order donuts called malasadas. Malasadas are about the size of your palm, rolled in sugar, and fluffy and airy on the inside. A delicious and fulfilling treat! The malasadas come in some delicious cream flavors such as Haupia (coconut creme), Custard, Dubash (chocolate), and Macadamia, along with Cinnamon Sugar and Li Hing (candied plum). The monthly flavor is always a treat and is usually one of the following tropical flavors: Mango, Guava, Banana, Pineapple, or Lychee (passion fruit). There are a few other items at Leonard's Bakery that are worth a bite like Pao Doce Wraps (Hawaiian sweet bread stuffed with Portuguese Sausage), Leonard's Pineapple & Coconut Turnovers, and their Fudge Mac Nut Brownies are also tasty! Parking can be a challenge, but the pastries are delivered warm and it's definitely worth the long lines.
