The Ma'ili Pillbox (Pu'u O Hulu Trail) is rated as a moderate trail and is a popular out-and-back trail located near Waianae, Oahu, Hawaii. The course features a fantastic forest atmosphere and it's used primarily for hiking with year-round access. Dogs are allowed on the trail, but the climb is dry and hot. The hike is pretty short and, believe it or not, the drive out to this location will take longer than the hike to the top of Pu'u O Hulu. Certain areas on the trail have drop-offs and it can get narrow. At the top you'll see several bunkers with a spectacular pillbox painted hot pink! Take your time and enjoy the views of Nanakuli and Waianae. On clear days to the west you can see to Kaena Point to Mount Kaala in the North and Kapolei/Campbell Industrial Park in the south.
