Barbers Point Lighthouse

At Barbers Point on the southwestern coast of Oahu there's not much to see except the lovely ocean views and, oh yeah, the little-known Barbers Point Lighthouse! The lighthouse got its name from Henry Barber who captained a ship called "Arthur" and wrecked his boat on a reef near the point when sailing from Honolulu to China, sadly killing all 28 people on board. The drive here is not a scenic one because you pass through a heavily industrial area. To get there take the H1 West to Kapolei. Get off of the H1 at the Kalaeloa Boulevard Exit. Drive to the end of Kalaeloa Boulevard, then make a right to Olai Street to take you to the beach park. Unfortunately, there isn't any access to the lighthouse; however, it's still a beautiful area to watch a sunset and the fishing is good! If you would like to attend a luau, neighboring Barbers Point Beach Park is Germaine's Luau. You may hear their music and sometimes observe their performances from the beach.
