Description:

The sign with the surfer girl in the red bikini is one of two in Hale'iwa. There's an interesting story behind the signs which are not the original three that had stood in town before them. Destroyed by vandals, Carole Beller's beloved signs were in poor shape until Tatsuro Ota repaired the signs with his own money and time. Beller wasn't too happy about this and took them down while putting up two new ones free of charge. A legal battle ensued but it seems today the controversy has been forgotten.
