Resplendent in sumptuous robes and finery, this statue adorned in golden garb commemorates the founder of the Kingdom of Hawaii. It was sculpted by an American artist living abroad in Italy. This is one of several statues of the great king on the island although this one is a second casting of the original which was thought to be lost at sea (then later recovered).

We visited here on the King's Day in June, it was draped in lei!
