Description:

A couple of ornate pillars and a richly carved wall are all that remain of the capitol building when Tuscaloosa was Alabama's governing municipality from 1826 to 1846. After 1846 the building became a women's college but a devastating fire and subsequent looters resulted in what you see today. The public park is open to visitors from 7 AM to 10 PM every day except Saturday when it is open from 9 AM to 12 PM.
