Cheaha Mountain Observation Tower

Also called Bunker Tower this is the highest point in Alabama. This peak was naturally deemed the best spot to build an observation tower at 2,407 feet above sea level. Built in a charming rustic style it was completed in 1934 and has been standing strong ever since. The roads can be uncomfortable for inexperienced drivers so it's best to get there well before dark. (Photo by GonzillArt)
