Middle Bay Lighthouse

This hexagonal-shaped lighthouse is distinctive for its location in the middle of Mobile Bay. A dual lighthouse and cottage, it was activated in 1885. It may be the only lighthouse on record to have witnessed the birth of a baby - the lighthouse keeper's wife gave birth in 1916. The lighthouse no longer operates except for tours which aren't cheap given its isolated location.
