Sloss Furnaces

Sloss Furnaces was once, in the iron ore heyday of the 1800s, a center of industrial wealth and power. The '60s and '70s saw radical shifts in economic prosperity around the world and overseas competitors put this iconic plant out of business. It has been reborn as a venue of sorts - the grounds are used for art classes, cookoffs, concerts, and Halloween events.
