Born in 1873, less than a decade after the Civil War had ended, W.C. Handy is legendary in these parts. He is known as the "Father of Blues" and with his trumpet he would unknowingly become one of the most influential musicians in this genre. Like many larger-than-life historical figures, W.C. got his start in this tiny, humble cabin. Once his childhood home, it now houses his memorabilia including sheathes of music written in his own hand.
