Description:
Imperial Bar & Grill in Juneau, Alaska, holds the title of Alaska's oldest bar, with a history dating back to 1891 when it was first known as the Missouri Saloon before becoming the Louvre. Over its 130+ years, the bar has survived fires, shootouts, and bar fights, earning a place in local lore. In 1914, J.J. Stocker established the Imperial Saloon, and following the end of Prohibition in 1933, he expanded the building to its present form. Today, the Imperial blends modern updates with historic charm, featuring tin-stamped ceilings and décor that reflect its pioneering past. It's a local favorite, where visitors can enjoy great food and drinks while hearing stories of Juneau’s past from friendly staff.
