Description:

Taku Harbor is a quiet little seaside spot about 22 miles southeast of downtown Juneau. In 1901, this cannery was built for the San Juan Fishing and Packing Co. which was known for its salmon products. In 1918, the cannery was sold to Libby, McNeill & Libby under which it operated until 1947. There is no road access to Taku Harbor so it's best to find a boat tour company from Juneau that will take you there.
