Description:
Almost 14 miles long, this glacier has been witnessed by humans to change the landscape - creating Mendenhall Lake by its 2-mile retreat since 1929. This ice mass has also been the poster child for global warming as it has very noticeably been retreating. For now it is still present and visible, easily accessed by tourists visiting Juneau.
