St Nicholas Orthodox Church

Built in 1893, this church served the burgeoning Russian Orthodox population that had flooded into this part of Alaska. Interestingly, this church was a joint effort between a Russian missionary and one of the native people. The blue and white structure is traditional Russian architecture.
