Description:

Long ago there was a frightening sight that terrified passengers traveling on the Santa Fe Railroad. Skull rock (helped along by the application of white paint) was that frightening sight. It was told that the track crew did this as a joke to scare railroad passengers who were informed by the conductors that Indians killed a scout just around the curve and left his skull as a warning - then passengers would see the rock! Some joke, huh? Nowadays you get a bonus view to Skull Rock - White Horse rock is on the same path!
