Blue Mesa

You get your choice of seeing the magnificent blue hills by car or by foot. Take the scenic drive, a three-mile loop off Petrified Forest Rd. About halfway into the drive you'll find the turn-off for the Blue Mesa Trailhead. The paved trail is great for everyone - it's an easy one-mile walk. Park hours are 8 to 5 but you can get a permit for extended time.
