Description:

The most popular tourist attraction in historic Tombstone, this cemetery seems to imitate art more than the other way around. It is the quintessential Western graveyard and thus almost becomes a caricature - so much so that people doubted its authenticity. In this case, art imitates life; the cemetery holds the remains of the pioneers and inhabitants who put this little dusty place on the map. Many died in violent circumstances and with their boots on which is where the name comes from. If you are looking for the famous Earp brothers, you'll have to look elsewhere - none are buried in Tombstone.
