Description:
Constructed by the ancient Pueblo People of the Hohokam period, the Casa Grande Ruins consist of multiple structures surrounded by a wall. Archeologists relate that the people who built Casa Grande developed irrigation farming and trade connections that lasted over a thousand years. The meaning of "Casa Grande" is "big house" and refers to the largest of the site's structures. Casa Grande was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on October 15, 1966.
