Chiricahua National Monument

Saves: 45
Check-ins: 4
A wide landscape covered in eerily life-like hoodoos characterizes this protected area in southeastern Arizona. These stone columns, populating the mountains like a race of giants, resulted from weather erosion of compacted volcanic ash produced when the nearby Turkey Creek Caldera erupted about 27 million years ago. You have your pick of a few trails but Echo Canyon Loop is easily accessed via Bonita Canyon Drive. There is a parking lot located at the trail head. (Submitted by Rajie Brown)
