Coconino Overlook

There are many great views in the Grand Canyon, but one of the best is on top of the striking sheet of Coconino sandstone aptly named "The Coconino Overlook." The trail is a moderately trafficked 1.3 miles out and the back trail near the North Rim offers beautiful scenic views. The route is suitable for all skill levels and it's used primarily for hiking, walking, and nature trips. The parking spots from the trailhead at the North Rim Lodge are limited and at the front of the lodge you can also catch a shuttle to take you to the trailhead.
