Made of concrete and holding back water through the use of gravity and pressure, Glen Canyon Dam was completed in 1966. It is 710 feet high (almost 300 feet taller than the highest roller coaster) and forms Lake Powell which is one of the largest man-made reservoirs in the USA. The lake is a popular recreational area, receiving 3 million visitors annually. (Submitted by Rajie Brown)

Tip!! : Park right before the bridge and walk along it! The fence has little cut outs where you can get good photos!
