The Hermits Rest structure built-in 1914 at the western end of Hermit Road is the main building designed by architect Mary Colter. The building design mimics a natural stone formation close to the land.Hermits Rest is a part of the multi-site Mary Jane Colter Buildings National Historic Landmark and the National Historic Landmark group incorporated Hermits Rest as a landmark on May 28, 1987.
