Description:

If you find yourself outside of Tucson, the thought may cross your mind to visit historic Tombstone but, before you do that, venture a bit further to the colorful and decidedly unexpected town of Bisbee. This artsy town is easy to walk in 30 minutes but along the main drag, you'll have neat shops to explore - from a handmade soapworks to metal sculptures to galleries galore. One shop occupies a former Wentworth's location and is worth a perusal if you happen to time your visit with when they're open (weekends only). The town itself is a veritable rainbow in a sea of desert - colorful clapboard houses dot the hillsides and exude personality - and you'll find many photo opps. The local coffee shop also makes a good cup of cha and joe and the former convention center in which it's housed is pretty remarkable - marble floors and art deco finishes throughout.
