Description:

Sometimes referred to as a "living ghost town," Oatman is located in the Black Mountains of Mohave County. Miners in the early 1900s found gold and thereafter the town became one of the many along Route 66. During the boom Oatman supported almost 10,000 people. Today only around 100 people reside here. The wooden sign at the entrance gives a brief history of the town and its important domesticated animal, the burro.
