From early March to mid-April off of the Bush Highway in the Tonto National Forest, catch a spectacular Mexican Poppy Super Bloom that blanket the hillsides with bright orange poppies. The Mexican poppy (Argemone pleiacantha) is a wildflower native to the southwestern United States and northern Mexico. It is known for its showy blooms which are a vibrant shade of orange and have a distinctive saucer-like shape. These blooms are so abundant that they attracted large crowds of visitors from all over the country with people coming to hike, take photographs, and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
