Description:

Who hasn't ever heard of the OK Corral in Tombstone, Arizona and the gunfight that took place in 1881? Except the actual gunfight had never happened inside the corral but in a narrow lot on Fremont Street, six doors west of the corrals rear entrance! Despite the historical error (thanks to Hollywood's movies and TV shows ) the O.K. Corral is still marketed as being the location of the shootout. The area where the cowboys Billy Claiborne, Ike and Billy Clanton, and Tom and Frank McLaury stood on one side and Marshal Virgil Earp, Special Policeman Morgan Earp, Special Policeman Wyatt Earp, and temporary policeman Doc Holliday stood on the other side are marked. Gunfights are still reenacted a few times daily.
