Description:

This is an excellent hike for beginners that allows you to get away from the South Rim and spend some time hiking. Each step gives you astonishing views, concluding at the Ooh Ahh Point where you get to see panoramas, including the little-visited eastern Grand Canyon. Located 600 feet below the South Rim Ooh Aah Point is part of the South Kaibab trail. This 6.3-mile hike descends 4,800 feet from the South Rim to the Colorado River. It follows the ridgelines along the canyon, offering unobstructed views of the Grand Canyon. Hike Length: 1.8 miles round trip so 1.5 to 2 hours.
