Queen Mine Tours

You'll be outfitted in a miner's hard hat and headlamp and a yellow slicker before descending into the Queen Mine for a tour. Retired Phelps Dodge employees (miners turned tour guides) will guide you underground, down 1,500 feet on the mine tour train into the mine while recounting tales of days gone by while illuminating you about mining techniques and the dangers that await everyone who chooses mining as their profession. Tours depart every day, seven days a week from the Queen Mine Tour Building (which opened to more than a million visitors since opening 1976).
