Ribbon Falls

From the Bright Angel Campground it's a 6-mile hike on the Bright Angel Trail to reach Ribbon Falls. The Falls are about 140 feet high and the flow of water has created a giant travertine spire below the falls - which collects at two tiny pools, one at the base and one at about 50 feet above the travertine. Swimming is allowed in the falls and you can hike up and beneath the falls. A backpacking permit is required in the Grand Canyon and the 2.5-hour, 12-mile round trip hike from Bright Angel Campground is well worth the undertaking! No dogs are allowed below the Grand Canyon Rim and the trail is not kid-friendly.
