Description:

Named after the giant cactus which is the largest in the nation, this national park is one of the few places where the tree-like species thrives. In fact, the saguaro is the cactus seen in many cartoon depictions of the southwestern desert region. There are plenty of family-friendly trails with interpretive signs revealing the magnificent flora you'll see around you. It's advised in the summer months to finish your hikes before 10 AM due to the sweltering temperatures. The park is very easy to get to; it can be found just east of the I-10 and north of W. Tucson-Ajo Hwy.
