Description:

Step into a waking dream in the midst of the Sonoran Desert where wild horses roam free. Around 500 of these horses swim and frolic in and around the Salt River. They've populated the area since the 16th century when Spanish colonizers brought horses with them to the New World. The drive alone is worth the visit as you are surrounded by the Sonoran Desert in Arizona. You'll see parts of the Goldfield Mountains, Stewart Mountain, and Red Mountain on your way to see the majestic Salt River wild horses.
