Description:

Shinumo Falls is a short distance up Shinumo Creek, a narrow-sided, beautifully colored canyon with a little shoreline. Most of the walking here is in the creek itself where climbing on the rocks can be very slippery. The creek ends in a shallow, waterfall-fed plunge pool. This area is the perfect place for getting some relief from the sweltering desert heat. The water of Shinumo is almost always clear and relatively warm and the best part of visiting the falls is you most likely won't have to share this space at all. "Shinumo," by the way, is a Paiute word referring to the ancient cliff-dwelling inhabitants of the canyon.
