Description:
St. Elmo Bar has been a fixture of Brewery Gulch in Bisbee, Arizona since 1902, making it the longest continuously operating bar in the state. During the town’s mining boom days, Brewery Gulch was packed with saloons, gambling halls, and brothels, and St. Elmo served miners and travelers in the heart of that rowdy district. When statewide prohibition hit, the bar reportedly survived by operating as a soda shop, possibly continuing to serve liquor in secret. Today it continues to thrive, blending its historic Old West vibe, wooden bar, and vintage decor with live music, dancing, and a lively dive-bar atmosphere that draws both locals and visitors.
