Yaki Point is the single scenic viewpoint on Desert View Drive that is not accessible by a private vehicle. Reach Yaki Point using the accessible Kaibab/Rim Route (Orange) shuttle, departing from Grand Canyon Visitor Center. Here the view of the canyon opens up to the east with the Desert View Watchtower visible in the distance. This is a popular view for sunset and sunrise. The other overlooks along Grand Canyon's East Rim Drive are less visited than Yaki Point.
