10 Mile Dune

What do you do when you don't live in a place that regularly gets snow? You go sledding on the dunes! These coastal dunes are about 3/4 of a mile from the water to Hwy 1, some reaching up to 130 feet. The dunes are named for the nearby Ten Mile River. You can enter the dunes directly from Hwy 1 if you'd like to explore them by foot or by sled. Stay on the dunes far enough away from plants and animals so that they remain undisturbed.
