Get a taste of Bavaria in a Mediterranean climate! Alpine Village was established in 1968 and since then has been known as German cultural center in Southern California. While it's open all year the best time to go is during Oktoberfest when you can dance the polka with abandon while doubling up on steins of lager. Oktoberfest is actually a misnomer; the Munich festival begins historically at the end of September. Check the Alpine Village website for updated information for dates. Don't forget to wear your dirndl or lederhosen!
