América Tropical Mural

Painted in 1932 by David Alfaro Siqueiros, this mural was almost immediately covered up afterwards and then remained that way until 2012. This is the oldest mural in LA. It depicts scenes from Mexico's history with symbolism of the ancient Mayans. A public viewing platform and an interpretive center gives visitors important information about the muralist and his work.
