Description:

Completed in 1935 the dam creating this reservoir was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps to prevent flooding downstream. However, its beauty is the highlight of the gulch. It's a favorite spot to hike to and then have a picnic while watching the sun set. To get there hike one mile up the Moses Spring trail from the Moses Spring Trailhead. Depending on the time of year you can go through another park highlight, the Bear Gulch caves, on your way. Make this hike a loop by returning on the Rim Trail.
