Bloom Mural

An overpass doesn't have to be an eyesore. Proof is in Bakersfield under Beale St. A project of local nonprofit The Hub of Bakersfield, artists Brandon Thompson and Jennifer Williams-Cordova worked with Kern Arts Council to paint the overpass. Hidden within the leaves and flowers are depictions of a few of the girls who live and go to school in the area. The message of this mural is to empower girls and young women with the affirmation that they have unlimited potential. (Submitted by Ginger Black)
