Description:
Upcycling is nothing new, as these boat houses prove. In the 1920s, builder and boating enthusiast Miles Minor Kellogg used scrap lumber and other scavenged materials to construct these fanciful boat-shaped houses. Though derided in their day, the S.S. Encinitas and the S.S. Moon Light still survive, their curved hulls propped up on stilts. Drive by and peep the real port holes on these vintage examples of vernacular highway architecture.
