Description:

Established by Tom Burgess in 1972, Burgess Cellars traces its roots to Howell Mountain slopes initially cultivated in the 1870s by Italian-speaking immigrants. Inspired by their Alpine homeland, the Poncetta & Rossini families cultivated vines on the rugged mountainside. Lee Stewart, sharing the same ambition, planted Cabernet Sauvignon and Petite Sirah grapes on Howell Mountain's steep hillsides, naming his winery Souverain, signifying "sovereign." Other Napa Valley luminaries also recognized the land's high promise.

Wine list features Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Red Blend. To check wine availability or book a tasting, please contact the winery.
