Calico Cemetery

A ghost town from California's less famous Silver Rush is also the final resting place of approximately 160 people. Only about 40 of those bodies have been identified, although the others will probably remain anonymous with the haphazard record-keeping and grave-digging of the early 1900s. To get to the ghost town and cemetery take I-15 to Calico Rd. and follow it to Ghost Town Rd. where you'll make a right. From there it will be easy to find parking and signs will lead you to either the cemetery or the town. Both are open daily from 9 to 5. (Submitted by Coleen Casado)
