Camera Obscura SF

Saves: 96
Check-ins: 34
Perched on a scenic point that overlooks the tumultuous Pacific Ocean, Camera Obscura is simultaneously a giant camera and a tiny museum. This is the last remaining structure of what was once known as Playland but it still operates as a walk-in-camera that takes 360-degree live images of San Francisco. An interesting bit of trivia is that its technology is based on a 15th-century design by da Vinci. The camera is open 11 AM to 5 PM and costs less than $5 per person for entry. (Photo by Al Ducote)
