Description:
This tiny enclave of Downtown L.A. dates back to the 1930s when Hollywood and L.A. were the stuff of dreams. Classic movie buffs will immediately know this exotic little square from the film "Chinatown" starring Jack Nicholson and Faye Dunaway. The East Gate with its gently curving tiers is one of the most recognizable landmarks here. As one would expect you can find almost anything to add chinoiserie to your home or wardrobe. Jade, porcelain, and calligraphy tools are sold in abundance here. Of course, this is one of the best places to get the most authentic Chinese food in Los Angeles. It's also near historic Olvera Street and Union Station. You can have a completely multicultural experience with a few hours in this neighborhood.
